Hanging Like a Loose Tooth šŸ˜‚

Hey Blog Friends!

Well, am I really going there today?

Hanging like a loose tooth?!Ā šŸ¦·šŸ˜‚

What?!

Are you SERIOUS?!?!

Maybe.

Maybe not.

But you know what? Let’s just go there today!Ā šŸ˜‚

I feel like laughing. I feel like having one of those conversations that makes absolutely no sense at first—but somehow, by the time we finish, we’ve stumbled right into an Aha Moment!

Because everything doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.

Sometimes you need to laugh.

Sometimes you need to look at a situation that’s been hanging around like a loose tooth—irritating you, bothering you, wiggling back and forth, refusing to fall out—and say:

ā€œYou know what? I’m not letting you steal my joy today!ā€Ā šŸ˜‚

What Does the Bible Say About Laughter?

The Bible actually has quite a bit to say about laughter, joy, gladness, and rejoicing.

Maybe somebody reading this has been carrying so much lately that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to have a good laugh.

Maybe God wants to put a little laughter back into your heart today. ā¤ļø

Proverbs 17:22 says:

ā€œA merry heart doeth good like a medicine.ā€

Now THAT will preach!

Joy can be medicine for the heart.

It doesn’t mean laughter magically makes every problem disappear. It doesn’t mean we ignore serious situations or pretend something doesn’t hurt.

It simply means that everything we’re going through doesn’t have permission to take our joy with it.

Psalm 126:2 says:

ā€œThen was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.ā€

I love that!

There is a place for laughter that comes from joy, restoration, gratitude, friendship, relief, celebration, and recognizing the goodness of God.

So today, let’s laugh!

Or should I say:

Let’s allow God to put a little laughter back into our hearts!Ā šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

Wait… Did You Say a Biscuit With HAIR?! 😳🤣

A patient and I were talking one day, and somehow the expression came up:

ā€œHave a biscuit with hair!ā€

HUH?!?!

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Of course I laughed!

But then I thought about it and said:

ā€œEWWWW! That’s NASTY!ā€Ā šŸ¤®šŸ˜‚

Now imagine this with me.

Somebody hands you a beautiful, hot, fluffy, buttery biscuit.

The steam is coming off it.

You break it open.

Butter melting everywhere.

You take one bite.

Mmmmm!

Second bite.

Then suddenly…

WHAT IS THAT?!?! 😳

A long strand of hair is hanging from the biscuit!

Oh, absolutely NOT!

Forget the laughter for a minute.

I’m going back to wherever that biscuit came from!

ā€œExcuse me! Who ordered the hairy biscuit?! Because it wasn’t ME!ā€Ā šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Refund, please!

But after the shock wears off—and possibly after my stomach settles šŸ˜‚ā€”there’s a choice to make.

Am I going to let one hairy biscuit ruin my entire day?

Sometimes situations are irritating.

Sometimes they’re embarrassing.

Sometimes they’re inconvenient.

And sometimes they’re just plain ridiculous!

But not every frustrating moment deserves our anger.

Sometimes you have to find a little humor before irritation turns into something bigger than the situation ever needed to become.

Words matter. Reactions matter. And sometimes laughter changes the atmosphere.

Before You Get Mad… Try Laughing šŸ˜‚

Let’s take some ordinary frustrating moments and give them a funny little twist:

You spill coffee on your clothes while walking out the door:

ā€œWell… apparently my outfit needed a little anointing this morning.ā€ šŸ˜‚ā˜•

You put your shirt on backward:

ā€œFashion has officially entered a new season. Please don’t copy me without permission.ā€ 🤣

You walk into a room and forget why:

Walk right back out and announce:

ā€œClearly the Lord did not send me in there.ā€ šŸ˜‚

You drop something and it rolls underneath the furniture:

ā€œAnd THAT is where you shall live from this day forward.ā€ 🤣

Your GPS says ā€œRecalculatingā€ for the fifth time:

ā€œGirl, just admit BOTH of us are lost!ā€ šŸ˜‚

You get caught talking to yourself:

ā€œExcuse me. I was having a staff meeting.ā€ 😳🤣

You trip but don’t fall:

Turn around, look at the floor and say:

ā€œNot today! I SAID NOT TODAY!ā€ šŸ˜‚

The computer freezes right when you need it:

ā€œApparently the computer has requested a personal day.ā€ 🤣

You make a mistake at work:

ā€œWell! That was today’s complimentary learning experience.ā€ šŸ˜‚

Your carefully planned day completely falls apart:

ā€œOkay, Lord… apparently You saw my itinerary and made some edits.ā€ šŸ˜³šŸ˜‚

You can’t find your glasses—and they’re sitting on your head:

ā€œNobody speak. We will NEVER discuss what happened here.ā€ 🤣

You open the refrigerator for the third time hoping something new has appeared:

ā€œMaybe on the fourth visit a cheesecake will manifest.ā€ šŸ˜‚

Someone catches you dancing by yourself:

ā€œOh, don’t mind me. I’m celebrating something that hasn’t happened yet!ā€ šŸ’ƒšŸ½šŸ¤£

You haven’t even made it to work and EVERYTHING has already gone wrong:

ā€œI haven’t even clocked in yet and TODAY already needs prayer!ā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ™šŸ½

And when you realize you’ve spent half the day worrying about something completely outside of your control:

ā€œOkay, Lauretta! You have officially resigned from God’s position. Let Him handle it!ā€Ā šŸ˜‚šŸ™šŸ½

Hanging Like a Loose Tooth 🦷

And maybe that’s the real message today.

Some things have been hanging around way too long.

That frustration.

That little offense.

That embarrassing moment.

That mistake.

That disappointment.

That person who got on your LAST nerve—and then apparently found another one!Ā šŸ˜‚

It’s hanging there.

Wiggling.

Annoying you.

Demanding your attention.

Just like a loose tooth!

And maybe instead of allowing that thing to control your mood, your conversation, and your entire day, it’s time to say:

ā€œYou are NOT taking my joy with you!ā€

Laugh a little.

Pray a little.

Learn the lesson.

Fix what needs fixing.

Apologize if you need to.

Get your refund for that hairy biscuit! 🤣

And then…

KEEP IT MOVING!

Because laughter doesn’t always mean the situation itself is funny.

Sometimes laughter simply means:

ā€œThis happened, but I’m not giving it enough power to ruin the rest of my day.ā€

Now THAT is freedom. ā¤ļø

Aha Moment ā¤ļø

Maybe every laugh isn’t a distraction from what you’re going through. Sometimes laughter is evidence that what you’re going through hasn’t stolen your joy.

So if life has you hanging like a loose tooth today…

Wiggle a little. šŸ˜‚

Pray a little. šŸ™šŸ½

Laugh a LOT. 🤣

And remember:

ā€œA merry heart doeth good like a medicine.ā€ — Proverbs 17:22

Now somebody pass me a biscuit…

BUT CHECK IT FOR HAIR FIRST! 😳🤣🤣🤣
