**So, You’re Bothered?

FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS!**

Galatians 6:9

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Great day to my early risers — and great day to those who rise a little later too. Whenever your eyes open, it doesn’t matter the hour. What matters is this: God woke you up. He gave you strength, breath, and the ability to move.

For my unbelieving hearts out there, listen when I say, “It’s because of Him you live, you move, and you have your being in Christ Jesus.”

This morning, one of my patients asked, “How’s your day?”

I get that question a lot. And I completely understand why — before someone sticks you with a needle, you want to know their mood. Because the truth is, the spirit and attitude of a phlebotomist can make or break your experience.

If the phlebotomist is irritated, frustrated, or distracted, the blood draw will show it: bruises, hematomas, painful sticks, and a bad attitude to top it off. But before I come to work, I make sure I’m not just good…

I’m GREAT.

And the enemy of good is great.

Why? Because I rise early.

I get up every morning to spend time with God. I sip my coffee, I meditate, I reflect on my day, and I ask God what I need to know or prepare for. I wait for His instructions — because He’s all-knowing, all-wise, and all-present. If He knows everything, why wouldn’t I ask Him about my day?

**What Happens When You Start Your Day With God?

You Become Unbothered.**

Here’s what it looks like when your focus starts with Him:

1️⃣ Your Mind Gets Aligned Before the Day Begins

You start your day from a place of peace, not pressure.

Anxiety quiets. Clarity rises.

You feel centered, not scattered.

2️⃣ Your Heart Becomes Sensitive to God’s Voice

Morning prayer opens your spiritual ears.

You begin to recognize His nudges, warnings, and encouragement.

Life feels guided — not guessed.

3️⃣ You Walk in Peace That Makes No Sense

Chaos may come, but you stay anchored.

His peace blankets you — calm, steady, unshakeable.

4️⃣ You Respond Better, Not Bitter

God softens your reactions.

You pause before you speak.

Grace replaces irritation.

Compassion replaces confrontation.

5️⃣ You Carry God’s Presence Wherever You Go

Starting your day with Him pours over into every room you enter.

Joy, strength, kindness, and confidence follow you.

People notice something different — and that “something” is Him.

**So let me ask you…

Why are you bothered?**

Why are you stressing over things you can’t control?

Why are you losing sleep over:

• the gossip on your job

• the finances that are in God’s hands

• your health and the report He already knows

• your children and relationships

• the political state of our nation

Why are you not trusting God?

The answer is simple: FOCUS.

Your focus is off.

Your alignment is off.

Your eyes are drifting in the wrong direction.

FOCUS!!!

I truly believe we become unbothered when we learn to focus on God more. But what happens when we don’t? What does it look like when life overwhelms us?

When We Become Bothered and Our Focus Gets Distorted…

It looks like constant mental clutter —

your mind racing, your thoughts loud, your peace far away.

It looks like being easily irritated, snapping quickly, or feeling drained by small things that shouldn’t affect you.

It looks like worry taking the driver’s seat —

replaying problems, imagining the worst, and trying to fix everything in your own strength.

It looks like spiritual fog —

where God feels distant not because He moved, but because life got too loud.

It looks like losing your center —

feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, restless, and heavy.

My Question To You:

Is it worth it?

Is it worth being bothered?

Unfocused?

Spiritually drained?

Is it worth compromising your health — the very body God blessed you with?

Is it worth risking your mental health — your clarity, your joy, your inner calm?

Because here’s the truth:

Stress steals.

Worry weakens.

A distracted heart always pays a price.

That’s why God invites us back to stillness…

Back to trust…

Back to Him.

The only place where our minds can breathe and our souls can settle.

Closing

Let’s learn how to trust and depend on our Lord, Jesus.

Let’s grow in becoming unbothered, focused, and rooted in His Word.

He is truly the Author and Finisher of our faith, and He knows exactly what we need.

So let’s trust Him today — and every day — as we continue this journey of learning how to stay unbothered and focused.
