Zechariah 2:8 â âFor he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.â
Here we go again with these fabulous, fancy titles that God whispers softly to my spirit â âSweet Apple Pie.â I love when God does this because He always releases something out of the ordinary, yet still practical, full of wisdom and understanding.
One thing I know for sure is this:
God is not hard to understand.
He doesnât want these messages to be complicated, confusing, or packed with heavy theological language that makes people feel lost.
No â He wants it simple, exciting, vibrant, fun, and full of meaningful, thought-provoking truth.
So letâs dive inâŚ

Sweet Apple Pie
The holidays are approaching, and families, friends, and neighbors everywhere are preparing to cook delicious meals â all kinds of food â and to top it all off, the sweets come out.
But one dessert I know will always take center stage is that good ole sweet apple pie.
I remember being a young girl watching my grandmother peel and boil her green apples on the stove. She would mix her flour in a bowl for her crust, pour the apples into her pan, and slide it into the oven.
As the pie baked, the aroma would fill the whole house. I would peek into the oven over and over again, waiting for it to finish. And once she pulled it out and it cooled down just enough, she would always cut me a slice.
You see, thereâs something about sweet apple pie that warms your soul â
the aroma, the sweetness, the comfort, the way it reminds you of love, home, and tenderness.
And as I read Zechariah 2:8, the Lord dropped this title in my spirit again:
âSweet Apple Pie.â
Why?
Because this scripture reveals just how tender, precious, and protected we are in the eyes of God.
And baby, thatâs amazing to know.
đ
You Are the Apple of Godâs Eye
Zechariah 2:8 tells us:
âFor he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.â
That phrase â apple of His eye â is powerful.
In Hebrew, it refers to the pupil, the most sensitive and protected part of the eye.
So when God calls YOU the apple of His eye, He is saying:
⨠âYou are precious to Me.â
⨠âI watch over you carefully.â
⨠âYou are protected, guarded, and covered.â
⨠âAnyone who comes against you is poking Me in the eye.â
Thatâs love.
Thatâs protection.
Thatâs Godâs tenderness wrapped around you like a warm, sweet slice of His goodness.
đ
God Doesnât Take Your Pain Lightly
The verse begins:
ââŚafter His glory sent Me to the nations who plundered youâŚâ
Meaning:
â God saw every attack.
â God saw every betrayal.
â God saw every unfair season.
â God saw every tear you cried.
â God saw every person who took advantage of you.
And listen â He didnât ignore it.
He didnât overlook it.
He didnât forget it.
God is not passive about you â He is protective over you.
When someone touched you, they touched Him.
When someone mishandled you, they provoked Him.
When someone tried to break you, they awakened His justice.
And God said:
âEnough. Iâm stepping in.â

Just Like Sweet Apple Pie â Godâs Love Covers You
Apple pie isnât just a dessert â itâs comfort, warmth, and love baked into something sweet.
And thatâs exactly how Godâs love is:
đ Warm â it wraps around you
đ Sweet â it restores your soul
đ Comforting â it steadies your heart
đ Protective â it shields you from harm
His love is not distant.
Itâs not harsh.
Itâs not cold.
Itâs sweet, close, personal, watchful, and tender.
You are covered by a Father who guards you like His own eye.
đ
When the Enemy Comes for You â God Comes for Him
This scripture makes one thing absolutely clear:
God defends what belongs to Him.
You donât have to clap back.
You donât have to fight people in the flesh.
You donât have to defend your name.
Chile⌠God already handled it.
He said:
đ âTouch them, and you touch Me.â
đ âMess with them, and you mess with My eye.â
đ âCome after them, and you will answer to Me.â
Thatâs divine protection.
Thatâs heavenly backup.
Thatâs sweet security.
đâ¨
Rest in Godâs Protection
Hereâs what God wants you to know today:
đ You are not overlooked.
đ You are not abandoned.
đ You are not unprotected.
đ You are not forgotten.
You are the treasure of Godâs heart â
the apple of His eye.
Walk in that confidence.
Stand in that identity.
Rest in that truth.
đ
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for calling me the apple of Your eye.
Thank You for seeing me, protecting me, and covering me.
Help me rest in Your love, trust in Your protection, and walk confidently knowing I am precious to You.
Keep my heart sweet, my spirit tender, and my life aligned with Your purpose.
In Jesusâ name, Amen.
