PERIODT!

And You Should…
Psalms 23:7
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
Let’s start right here.
Because this scripture is the whole foundation of this blog.
A person’s thoughts and internal mindset shape their character, actions, and ultimately, their entire reality. It shows us how powerful the mind is — how a positive mindset can lift us up and a negative one can literally destroy an outcome before it even starts.
And yes… this is absolutely true.
Your mindset influences your direction, your behavior, your decisions, and even your relationships. Positive people influence. Negative people influence. And depending on who you surround yourself with, your own mindset can shift — quickly.
Be careful who has access to your mind. PERIODT.
Can We Be Honest for a Moment?
My Bishop said something one Sunday and I hollered:
“We need to take two Kevin Hart movies and smile!”
At first, we all laughed because it was hilarious — but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how true it was.
Why do believers act like everything has to be so serious, so deep, so spiritually heavy ALL THE TIME?
Who told us God canceled our sense of humor the moment we got saved?
Who said holiness means we can’t laugh, enjoy life, or have fun?
Did God give us a personality, only to require that we bury it? Absolutely not.
Biblical Personality — What God Says About YOU
The Bible may not use the word personality, but it certainly describes it.
📖 Personality (Biblical Definition):
The God-designed blend of traits, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors that reflect His image in you (Genesis 1:27), shaped by purpose (Jeremiah 1:5), transformed by His Spirit (Romans 12:2), and expressed through the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).
Personality is God’s craftsmanship.
It is:
intentional
unique
purposeful
spiritual
expressive
and beautiful
✨
Biblically, your personality includes:
1️⃣ You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:14 — God crafted your uniqueness on purpose.
2️⃣ Your character is shaped by the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22–23 — Your personality matures with spiritual fruit.
3️⃣ Your personality carries purpose.
Jeremiah 1:5 — You were designed for an assignment.
4️⃣ Your mind is renewed by God.
Romans 12:2 — Transformation refines your attitude and outlook.
5️⃣ Your personality reflects God’s glory.
Matthew 5:16 — People see Christ in how you show up in the world.
10 Beautiful Traits That Make a God-Given Personality Shine
1️⃣ Kindness
2️⃣ Integrity
3️⃣ Humility
4️⃣ Patience
5️⃣ Empathy
6️⃣ Generosity
7️⃣ Resilience
8️⃣ Courage
9️⃣ Loyalty
🔟 Gratitude
These traits brighten dark days, restore hope, and show people God — sometimes more than a sermon ever could.
And Now… Let’s Talk About PERIODT.
One of my favorite words — one that I’ve claimed all of 2024 — is PERIODT.
I use it at the end of statements that I don’t need to explain, defend, water down, or second-guess. PERIODT is my exclamation point, my holy boldness, my confidence wrapped in eight letters.
So why am I calling this blog PERIODT?
Because this word captures an entire attitude:
✨
What PERIODT Means (Short + Clear):
Final answer
No discussion needed
I said what I said
That’s the truth
Case closed
Undeniable fact
Firm confidence
✨ Emotion Behind It:
boldness
certainty
empowerment
confidence
emphasis
✔ Examples:
“I know my worth — PERIODT.”
“God has been good to me — PERIODT.”
“I’m moving forward with my purpose — PERIODT.”
Let Me Be Transparent…
Over the years, I suppressed my personality.
I stopped laughing.
I stopped going out.
I stopped enjoying life.
And for what?
To look more “saved”?
To appear more “spiritual”?
To meet someone else’s expectation?
No ma’am. No sir.
When I did go out with friends, I was so tight and serious that I wanted to quote scriptures every three minutes and tell people to repent or go to hell — instead of relaxing and having a good time.
I sacrificed joy trying to earn another little self-righteous “badge of honor”…
“I won another soul in the Kingdom!”
But the truth?
It was never my work. It was the Holy Spirit working through me. PERIODT.
And did I not know that the Lord could STILL use me…
with my humor?
with my personality?
with my joy?
with my laughter?
Did I not know God created all of that in me on purpose?
Let me tell you something:
I refuse — REFUSE — to live the rest of my life not enjoying myself. PERIODT.
I will enjoy life without sin.
I will laugh.
I will go bowling.
I will see a movie.
I will go to a comedy show.
I will have fun and still glorify God — because He created my personality.
I will NEVER again suppress myself to look like something God never asked me to be.
A Pastor Told This Story…
A pastor I’ve followed for years throws himself a birthday party every year.
And he tells the congregation:
“This is a party. If you’re too saved, do not come.”
Saved and celebrating?
Saved and dancing?
Saved and having a good time?
Yes.
Holy people can have holy fun.
He admitted he missed every dance and party in high school and college because he thought being saved meant no enjoyment.
That’s not God.
That’s religion.
And that mindset steals joy.
So Again — Why PERIODT?
Because it marks the end of every false belief about who you “should” be.
It’s the line in the sand where you get to say:
“I will be who God created me to be — PERIODT.”
In Closing…
Please — be your authentic self.
Don’t change your personality unless it is harmful to you or someone else.
God gifted you with uniqueness, humor, light, warmth, and creativity.
Use it.
Shine with it.
Honor Him with it.
And don’t let anyone — not religion, not judgment, not expectation — EVER take that away.
PERIODT.
