Capacito… God Is Equipping Me

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.”

Hey Family!

I pray you all are doing well, regardless of your present circumstances. Even if life seems to be moving in the opposite direction of your purpose, can I encourage you today?

Maybe it isn’t moving away from your purpose at all.

Maybe it’s moving exactly in the direction God has already designed for your life.

I know… it doesn’t always feel that way.

Sometimes His path feels unfamiliar.

Sometimes His process feels uncomfortable.

Sometimes His timing doesn’t make sense.

But if God is leading you, keep going.

This morning, while driving my new route to work, I found myself listening to some beautiful Hispanic music. I couldn’t understand most of the lyrics, but one particular word kept capturing my attention.

Capacito

“Who would’ve thought God would use a Spanish word in a song to remind me that I wasn’t disqualified—I was simply being equipped.”

Capacito

There was just something about it.

It sounded beautiful.

I couldn’t stop saying it.

Capacito.

Capacito.

Capacito.

I didn’t want to forget it once the song ended, so I kept repeating it all the way to work. The moment I arrived, I looked it up because I just had to know what it meant.

What I discovered immediately stirred something in my spirit.

The word carries the idea of being equipped, prepared, enabled, and qualified.

The moment I read that definition, I smiled.

I thought, “Lord… You just gave me a blog in Spanish!”

Isn’t God amazing?

He has a way of speaking to us in the most unexpected places.

A conversation.

A billboard.

A child.

A song.

Even a word in another language.

Immediately my mind went to Scripture.

How many times have we believed we weren’t ready?

We tell ourselves…

“I don’t know enough.”

“I’m not educated enough.”

“Someone else could do it better.”

“Lord, You have the wrong person.”

Yet throughout the Bible, God consistently chose ordinary people and equipped them for extraordinary assignments.

If I’m honest…

I never felt qualified for ministry.

Matter of fact, I felt just like Moses.

I had excuse after excuse.

“Lord, I can’t speak.”

“I’m not the right person.”

“Please send someone else.”

Sound familiar?

Looking back, I wish someone had sat me down years ago and drilled one simple truth into my spirit:

God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the ones He calls.

That one truth removes so much unnecessary pressure.

The pressure of trying to know everything.

The pressure of trying to be perfect.

The pressure of comparing yourself to everyone else.

The pressure of believing you’re not enough.

For years, I honestly believed that if God called someone, they would automatically feel ready.

I certainly didn’t.

I had a wonderful pastor who continually pushed me toward what God was calling me to do.

And many times…

I pushed right back.

“No.”

“I can’t.”

“I’m not ready.”

When I tell you my self-confidence was low…

It was low.

I looked at other believers who preached with boldness, taught with confidence, and seemed so comfortable walking in their calling.

Then I looked at myself.

“I can’t do it like them.”

“Lord… use them instead.”

Before I ever gave God the opportunity to use me…

I had already disqualified myself.

Can you imagine that?

I counted myself out before God ever counted me in.

But here’s what I’ve learned…

God isn’t looking for perfection.

He’s looking for availability.

He isn’t asking you to have all the answers.

He’s asking you to trust the One who does.

So let me ask you…

What has God been trying to Capacito you for?

What assignment have you been avoiding because you don’t feel equipped?

What dream have you buried because you don’t feel qualified?

What calling have you delayed because fear convinced you that someone else could do it better?

Here’s the good news…

God will never position you for an assignment without also providing what you need to fulfill it.

He won’t abandon you halfway through the journey.

His name is on the line.

You are representing Him.

And because of that, He takes full responsibility for equipping those He has called.

So let Him…

Capacito you.

Equip you.

Prepare you.

Qualify you.

Because where God guides…

He always provides.

Aha Moment

Maybe the only thing standing between you and your purpose isn’t a lack of ability…

It’s the belief that you have to be fully equipped before you say “Yes.”

Can I let you in on a little secret?

God has never been intimidated by someone’s lack of experience.

He chose a stuttering Moses.

A shepherd named David.

A fearful Gideon.

A fisherman named Peter.

A persecutor named Paul.

None of them looked qualified.

But every one of them became qualified because they trusted the One who called them.

Maybe that’s where you are today.

You’ve been praying for clarity.

You’ve been waiting for confidence.

You’ve been asking God for a sign.

Perhaps He has already given you one.

The assignment that keeps stirring your heart…

The dream that won’t leave you alone…

The burden you can’t seem to shake…

Those may not be random thoughts.

They may be heaven’s invitation.

Stop telling God what you can’t do.

Start thanking Him for what He is about to do through you.

Remember, God isn’t looking for the most talented.

He isn’t searching for the most educated.

He isn’t waiting on the most experienced.

He’s looking for the willing.

Because willingness is where His power begins.

So the next time fear whispers,

“You’re not ready.”

Answer back…

“Maybe not… but my God is.”

The next time doubt says,

“You’re not qualified.”

Smile and say…

“You’re absolutely right… but my God is Capacito-ing me every single day.”

He is equipping me.

He is preparing me.

He is strengthening me.

He is qualifying me.

And because He called me…

I will no longer disqualify myself.

Until your next Aha Moment…

So stop waiting.

Stop doubting.

Stop comparing.

Stop disqualifying yourself.

The same God who called Noah to build…

The same God who called Moses to lead…

The same God who called Esther to stand…

The same God who called Peter to preach…

…is the same God who is calling you.

He will Capacito you.

He will equip you.

He will prepare you.

He will strengthen you.

He will qualify you.

Now go… and walk boldly in what God has already prepared for you.
