Blog 6 — Kindness Matters

Kindness is powerful. It’s love in action — expressed through patience, gentleness, and courage, especially when life gets hard.

We’re living in challenging times. The economy is unstable, families are struggling, and many are facing painful losses — from homes to jobs to financial support. In moments like these, kindness matters more than ever.

So, I ask you this: How are you showing up in kindness today?

When frustration rises, what love is flowing from your heart to others?

Are you trying to prove that you’re right, or are you showing compassion?

Is pride pushing you to win the argument, or are you choosing grace and humility — taking the low road with peace?

This message is especially for my iPublishhub Books subscribers — I want to encourage you to live every day intentionally, showing kindness to everyone you meet. No matter the setting or circumstance, your response can be a reflection of God’s heart.

I work in an environment where many people suffer from PTSD and past trauma. When patients come to my booth to have their blood drawn, I never know what’s going through their minds. What I do know is this — every person deserves respect and honor, regardless of their background, mood, or what brought them to that moment.

Recently, a veteran called me a “fool” because my conservative views didn’t match his. I was stunned by his outburst, but instead of reacting with anger, I responded calmly:

Please don’t call me a fool. Even though we may have differences, I don’t deserve to be called that name. God teaches us not to call anyone a fool.”

He paused, then quietly apologized and rolled out of the lab in his wheelchair.

What if I had matched his energy? What if I had given him the same reaction he gave me? It could have escalated quickly. Instead, I chose kindness. And that moment of peace probably reminded him of something his mother or someone dear once said — never call anyone a fool, no matter the disagreement.

That’s the beauty of kindness: it disarms anger, softens hearts, and leaves lasting impressions.

What Does God Say About Kindness?

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

🌿 Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”💬 Kindness is rooted in forgiveness and grace — the same mercy God extends to us daily.

Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

💛 Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”💬 Kindness is something we “put on” every day — an outward reflection of God’s love living within us.

Galatians 5:22–23 (NIV)

🌸 Galatians 5:22–23 (NIV)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”💬 True kindness isn’t forced — it grows naturally from the Holy Spirit working in us.

There’s so much more we could say about kindness, but I’ll stop here.

The heart of Blog 6 is simple: Kindness Matters.

Being unkind stirs up anger, bitterness, and resentment, but God calls us to be different — to be His light in the world, reflecting kindness wrapped in all His goodness.

So wherever life takes you this week, choose kindness. You never know whose heart you might heal with one gentle word or act of grace.
